Grand Island Express Announces a 4 Million Miles Award
How many drivers can say they have drove 4 Million Miles…that’s 4 Million Accident Free Miles to be exact? Eric Bauman, company driver for Grand Island Express does! Eric Bauman is an OTR (over the road) driver for Grand Island Express and has recently reached a rare milestone in his career, that not many drivers in the industry reach, he has driven 4 Million Accident Free Miles.
Eric, a native of Grand Island, started with Grand Island Express on December 27th, 1989 as a student driver and has been with the company ever since. He is the first driver in Grand Island Express history to reach 4 Million Accident Free Miles.
“Even more amazing than that is that all 4 Million miles have been with the same company,” said Lucas Mowrey, Safety Director, at Grand Island Express.
Today, May 25th, Eric was awarded with a 4 Million Miles Award with plaques and gifts from Grand Island Express as well as the Nebraska Trucking Association. There was a lunch reception for Eric from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m. His family, friends, co-workers and other drivers were present for his celebration.
