    Our new Owner Operator contract includes mileage pay increases and a new Safety Bonus based on Seniority!

    Compensation

    Safety/Seniority Bonus

    This bonus will be paid out each year before Christmas (12/15/06). Bonus calculation is as follows:
    Less than 1 year (after 1/1/05) 0.25¢
    one - two years (before 1/1/05) 0.50¢
    three years (before 1/1/03) 0.75¢
    four years (before 1/1/02) 1.00¢
    5 years (before 1/1/01) 1.25¢
    Mileage Bonus paid on miles run from 12/01 thru 11/30. 110,000 minimum miles required (no minimum required at the 0.25¢ rate). Owner disqualified from bonus with any preventable accident that exceeds O/O $1,000 liability. Company driver seniority (if any) is not counted as Owner Operator seniority. Owner operator must stillbe leased on a the time of bonus payout.

    Fuel Surcharge

    Fuel surcharges will be paid on all miles according to the following scale:
    FUEL PRICE SURCHARGE
    2.98-3.039 $.30
    3.04-3.099 $.31
    3.10-3.159 $.32
    3.16-3.219 $.33
    3.22-3.279 $.34
    3.28-3.339 $.35
    3.34-3.399 $.36 etc.

    Drop Pay

    Contractor will be paid $40.00 for all extra stop-offs.

    East Coast Bonus

    Contractor will receive $100.00 per trip for loads that originate in CO, IA, IL or NE and deliver to one of the 12 Northeast states.

    Loading/Unloading Expense

    All lumping expenses reimbursed. Many preloaded trailers.

    Weekly Settlements

    • Weekly settlement every Friday

    Mobile Communications

    Grand Island Express will provide Contractor with in-cab mobile communications FREE of charge

    Contract Terms

    Tractor Specification

    • Tractor can be no more than 7 years old
    • 260" maximum wheel base
    • Must weigh no more than 18,500 lbs with half tank of fuel
    • 47" maximum fifth wheel height

    Insurance/Escrow

    Grand Island Express offers the following types of insurance for each contractor:
    • Bobtail Insurance
    • Physical Damage Insurance
    • Workmen's Comp Insurance

    Each contractor may purchase the above Insurance from the carrier of their choice or may purchase insurance from GIX at our fleet rates.

    Grand Island Express requires each contractor to deposit $1,000.00 into an escrow fund at the beginning of the lease agreement.

    Flexible Dispatch Policy

    • Drivers select their outbound loads
    • Average 2700-3200 miles per week
    • Runs to the Northeast, East, Southeast and Midwest

    Passenger Program

    • Rider authorization for spouse
    • Limited authorization for dependents 10 years old or older

    Fuel Program

    • EFS fuel card available
    • Purchase fuel at GI Express's fleet price
